Yep. It's just up the road from where I live! I don't know if it will stick because it's quite soft and wet and I must admit I do NOT like snow. I'm not a winter person at all.

Re: Snow tonight

Bl**** hell willow, I love snow. I can remember when it use to build up outside the door at Miller Fold and us having to climb over it to get out for school. We had to walk up to School at Green Howarth. God we had fun, but sometime we cried with the cold before we got there, it was a bloody long way when you only had little legs. We had to walk because they could get the Omo up there when it was deep. Want to do a house swop for the winter..............

Re: Snow tonight

If it was up to me I'd swop at the drop of a hat to escape the snow. I liked it when I was about 10!

Come on............... Snow is ACE... I am 37 and get more excited about it snowing than my kids.....

When we get enough snow me and the kids spend hours playing and sledging :)

But come midnight then the kids go to bed and the fun really starts......

Me and a gang of childish adult's (neighbours) Go out sledging for hours under the moonlight......... :) Why grow UP?????????

Even got a russian sledge with Steering and Brakes..... ACE fun....:):)

Re: Snow tonight

I love snow, but only when seen through a window, when sitting in front of a roaring fire, glass in hand, and not having to go ANYWHERE!

Re: Snow tonight

i hate snow it makes your feet cold and it then turns to ice and it takes twice as long to walk kids to school.
Ive always hated it since i got stuck up a very steep path on my way home from school and wouldnt come down until my dad came to get me i was there for agesfrozen a guy offered to help me but i wouldnt and sent him to get my dad.

Thanks for being my hero dadx

Re: Snow tonight

I'm also like a big kid when it snows. Have even been known to wake the rest of the house up in the middle of the night just to look at it snowing. Love snow when it is fresh and soft, could spend ages out in it. But hate it when it goes all slutchy or turns to ice.

Re: Snow tonight

Apparantly we are in for another cold snap with snow predicted for early on next week. So if it's right get your camera ready Willow.

I'm with Pendy on this one.
Never liked being out in snow even has a child.
Exept when its stopped falling and i'm the only one about.

WillowTheWhisp 25-11-2004 07:15

Re: Snow tonight

I don't so much mind it falling, it's when it's on the ground and walked on and packed like ice - or slightly thawed and then frozen overnight - those are the worst aspects of snow.

If there are any pretty sights I shall try to photograph them.

I'm really just not a cold weather type person though.

The spring is the best time of year for me.
Not to hot and not to cold.
Everything fresh and new.
Hate the wind more than anything.
Love a good old thunderstorm.

Why.. do you live in Shangrila? Thanks for the offer but I don't fancy living in Accy again.

The views from our house aren't bad either

Re: Snow tonight

I love snow!! We get maybe 2/3 falls through the winter, one of them 20" in 12 hours a couple of winters ago. It takes the power lines down though, and the side roads dont get cleared until God does it.
Its the intolerable heat in summer that freaks me out :(

Re: Snow tonight

We are going through a cold snap at the moment, it was 49f last night and only 70f today, looks like winters arrived.

Re: Snow tonight

I love snow, so long as I don't have to go out in it...:D Don't mind going walking in it, but hate driving in the snow. There's too many idiots on the road who don't know the principals of going as slow as you can in the highest possible gear, therefore they skid all over the road when they brake. I worked 8 winters in the community and didn't skid once, do people not get taught how to drive in adverse weather conditions anymore?

Doug 26-11-2004 16:16

Re: Snow tonight

I've had more than the odd skid driving in adverse weather conditions......;) Any sign of of the white stuff yet then.........:)

Re: Snow tonight

It's great is snow! You connot beat going for a mid-winter stroll in the Lake District or in the mountains of Scotland, when there is hard-packed snow underfoot. Mid-week, when most folk are busy staying warm at work is the best time to go. :)
