I didn't realise a law had been passed that he had to be wheeled out on every significant national celebration.

They mentioned this on the TV show the Wright Stuff and it seemed to be consensus that Paul McCartney shouldn't have been on at the end. Someone said should have been the Rolling Stones as they are all still alive (except Brian Jones)- but what songs could they have performed - anything suitable?

Start me up - perhaps or Jumping Jack Flash?

BBC News - Boris Johnson left hanging on zip wire during Olympic event

today we got the first gold medals .. helen glover and heather stanning the women pairs rowing and bradley wiggins in the time trial in cycling ... they did well ... in fact i think all of em have done well ... have watched quite a bit of it ... especially helen and heather .. they only took rowing up 4 years ago ... so to go and win the gold medal .. and one of em is in the army and will be going back to the army maybe in afghanistan next year ....

Glad someone's mentioned the gold medals - well done Wiggo and the girls, even though they were expected to win it's still an achievement and sets team GB up for further glory - we hope...

Watched a brilliant match earlier which saw Andy Murray get through to the Semi-finals in the individual men's tennis. He was serving at his best and played one perfect game -four clear aces in a row! Great tennis all-round hope he keeps it up now he's entered the medal zone. Djokovich or Tsonga in the semis -should be a exciting match. C'mon Andy!

Inspirational Murray has stormed his way through into the finals of the Olympics. Brilliant crowd behind him -superb tennis from both him and Djokovich -the best man won on the night!

Repeat of the Wimbledon final -can't wait. The silver medal is already his -just has to win one more match for gold.

Well he must have a better chance of winning this time, after all there's no money involved.
