Does anyone know what is happening to the old Palladium cinema on Union Road Ossy? It appears that all the seating is being removed. Has it been sold or what? ......... just nosey

Can tell you though that there was :

280 .. unit seating
64 ... cinema seats
68 ... tip-up seats
260 .. circle seating.

672 in all.

Lots of folks have seen what I have seen regarding the removal of the seating but no one has yet told us what is happening eventually to the place smarty pants..........

When i was living on the caravan park to the rear, owned by Jim West we were all given copies of a letter from the council saying there would be construction works in the near future to make the building safe and secure.

Said nothing about it re-opening though.

I heard that it is in a conservation area and development will be very tricky to obtain, I expect whoever buys it will end up with a white elephant

Thanks Lancsdave .. wondered how long would take them to pick up on that. Have just been searching for a Demolition Enforcement order ... looks like that is what has happened here.

Wonder what the owners will now do with the site ... sounded like they could have had plans for resurrecting the Bingo Hall (who knows). Perhaps now they may just decide to sell off the land or summat. Will all have to wait again and speculate .. as we do...
