I'm sure you are all a lot healthier now.
Although he recently wrote to the Observer in favour of the windmills we are now soon to have on Ossy moors, despite some peoples's health concerns, especially people with epilepsy, who, because of the flicker effect, can have induced attacks.

Re: Cockers Chemicals (Nipa Laboratories)

I think Ossy moors might be quite a good place for windmills - they are so broad and flat that there are places on top that can't easily be seen from the surrounding valleys & hardly anyone ever walks there due to the boggy terrain.

I used to walk up from Ossy past the (then) 3 reservoirs and over past the Grane road to the hills on the other side (& back). A grand day out.

Top res' was quite spectacular but I think it's drained now.

I think they'd look great from Oswaldtwistle, if they were sited in Telford.

I lived in London for nearly half my life.

I only moved back because of the Corporation pop.

Did he really, do you mean The Observer or the local paper? because I can't find anything in either.
I am surrounded by windfarms here, but I've never heard about the concerns for epileptics.
The main objection here is that it's big business (run by the mafia!!) because every 'windmill' costs a great deal of cash. On the other hand there's quite a saving on electricity bills and many benefits for all the small towns.
Still, I'm no longer in Ossie, so perhaps I should keep out of the discussion!!

It was a letter to the Observer, which aren't put on the website.

He accused those of opposing the windmills on the moors of being NIMBYs.

So you did, and as I replied, I don't really go in for clandestine whispering.

I prefer to air my thoughts out in the open.

It is a public forum, and that is the way I prefer voive my opinion.

Wind farms are more than just an eyesore. They can cause epileptic fits.
The flickering of sunlight through the turbines' spinning blades can trigger seizures in the most vulnerable, an expert warned yesterday.
Windmills can contribute to a number of health conditions. The blades can cause a flickering effect that is similar to a strobe light, which can affect individuals with epilepsy. The windmills also create a low-frequency hum that can cause headaches. Some mental disorders, such as anxiety and depression, have also been reported.
