sorry firefighter ya didn't point out a potential problem that might or might not happen.---Just heard that a planning application has been submitted to change the working mens club into function rooms for Asian weddings etc. That will cause traffic chaos around that area during an event. is what ya said.

I am a person that read your conclusions and jumped to one of my own, I wonder which of us will result with the most accurate assumption?

Didn't pick up on the application that is was for function room 's' ... they separate the women from the men don't they ... LOL.

Although, the one and only I have attended as an invited guest, was put into the room with all the men, and at the head of the table too which was elevated on a stage. Felt like the Queen. Was transported by stretch limo too.

fire fighter is correct , wherever asians get together in large numbers traffic laws go out the window , a friend of mine lives near one of their comunity centers and the cheecky swines go as far as to not only block the roads with double and tripple parking but often park that far onto the pavement outside her house that she cant ge out of her front gate,they even parked in her neigbours garden one time

so firefighter does have a point as anyone who lives near to where asians hold events or meet up becomes one huge traffic hazzard that usualy the police do very little to sort out

personaly i would send a team of traffic wardens and tow trucks to any large event wether it be an asian wedding , a christian wedding or a birthday party and make damn sure the roads are kept clear and the locals arnt bothered


you dont get so much trouble when they hold a wedding at the town hall because they know damn well they are on cctv,traffic wardens are more likely to be about and they dont want to block the road as they dont like the idea of their new mercedies getting hit by a bus trying to get past

they used to be and i think they still are , i may be wrong as i dont go into town sundays much as im usualy recovering from saturday

besides they are still on cctv which the operators will tell the police if any blockages occur etc and the busses are still running


lets not forget it was only last year that HBC addmited that they GAVE UP trying to enforce parking laws down blackburn road as it was too much hard work

Lets be honest here, the only reason people are concerned is due to the fact its something focussed on the asian community. The only dubious point is are people bothered due to racism, or the actual traffic problem it could cause.

In all honesty I think its great that the familes do get together for such an event, maybe we whites should hold the same respect and 'familyness' as they do. Then perhaps it wont be a question of who uses the facilities but rather the effect that it will have

couldnt give a toss what asians do with their time ,what i do give a toss about is when i cant drive down a road because they are illigaly blocking it through ignorance and inconcideration for people around them and causing problems for local residents

surely amongst two asian families they can muster up a few taxis or if they have passed a british driving test be fully aware that you are not supposed to park two cars side by side on a public road

most right minded people would actualy think it best not to take the car because parking is lousey and arrange alternative transport but clearly as often is the case they prefer to dump their cars where ever they like as if it is their god given right to do so

Ad have you ever parked around a school at home time??? Asians do not have the monopoly on cack parking.

I dont think this should be a case of nationality and race of customers to James St, more should the planning permission been granted. Does it matter what colour the punters are?? Surely if a function room holds, say 200 people, its going to cause an issue, no matter what colour/religion they are

no as im not a pedophile but i acknowledge your point but lets be honest a lot of bad parking at collecting time at schools is caused by women who cant drive their big 4x4's ( seriously girls you may think you are driving well but clipping other cars and reversing up pavements just because your 4x4 can isnt good driving)

im not saying its just asians that park badly but if somone is going to start suggesting that objections are purely because it is an asian event then sory i am going to point out the obvious truth and that is that asian events on a whole cause a lot of traffic problems due to their lack of consideration to the people around them

firefighter raised a valid concern and it was suggested it was because the place was going to be used by asians , if he indeed is a firefighter is the next accusation going to be that he climbs ladders more slowly when rescueing an asian from a burning house ?

Like i say the point i am trying to make is that the council should have looked at the maximum occupancy of the function room, and decided if the area could handle the traffic this will cause.
