Well I know of one of them, according to the paper they have arrested 3 people, 2 men and a woman so it looks like the info I had of him going on the run wasn't right
PS - I wont post the name, its not right too

Re: Murder in Golden Cross

It seems another light has been shed on this matter. The accused was apparently bullied at a young age off the victim.Apparently he wasn't thrown through a window, but one of the glass partitions in the Cross. And the stamping bit was brought around by him putting his foot across the top of the victims chest while saying "Thats for when you beat me up when I was twelve".Although it doesn't make whats happened right,it does like I said 'Put another light' on the incident.I wasn't a witness but have got the account through my line of work as a taxi driver based in Ossy, off customers who said they were in the pub that night.

Regardless of what happened in the past this is VERY WRONG, and came close to ending someones life. What really happened will be open to conjecture as with all stories that are retold bits change ever so slightly at each retelling. Even a witness might have a different view on what happened to another and so forth and so forth. Yes it is news in the local area but might be best to wait until the police bring it to court to get all the facts. When roumors circulate there is a chance even a remote one of an unfair trial.

I suspect that the background to this incident involved the consumption of alcohol by at least one of the parties.

If this was just a revenge beating for a kiddy scrap when the lads were 12 year old I will agree with you Spug, after all kids will be kids.

If this lad was bullied all through his childhood by the lad he leathered though, then I can understand it. I've never been bullied myself (only very weak attempts by Neil ) but I have seen it's effects on other people that are still very scarred well into their adulthood. It's not something they are easily able to forgive or forget!

As you said though Spug, it's all speculation at the moment.

Re: Murder in Golden Cross

People who live out of Ossy believe our little town to be really rough and to be avoided, this suprised me although I always feel uncomfortable In a couple of our hostileries, but yes the general feeling is that Ossie is full of travellers and is a rough town, and incidents like this one just adds fuel.

Does anyone else feel uncomfortable in any of the pubs?

I've lived away from Ossy for the last twenty years, and have been in some real dives, especially when I lived in London and Glasgow. I have never seen any trouble, or felt the least bit worried, whilst out in the pubs in Ossy.

Like anywhere else in the world, I've found if you go looking for trouble, trouble will come looking for you.

Good to see, according to the Telegraph, the 'murdered' lad is back home with his parents.
