Thats probably the same piece of land on the corner of thwaites road, overgrown with a undulating slope to the bottom where the brook is.

There was one on this portion of land for 90 dwellings ages ago, which got passed, but then the Nursing Home superseded it.

The swannie was a tract of land between Thwaites road and cocker brook, as you say there were old footings from a mill where tadpoles were in abundance in the season, there was a lodge, right behind where the nursing home is now, was very dangerous, they used to say there was quicksand in the area but don't know if that was right, spent a lot of time up yon when I was a kid
