Oswaltwistle's Town Square?????

Right, I've lived here a long time but I don't know where the Town Square is. There's a story in the Acc Obs about £17,587 being spent on doing it up but I've never heard of anywhere called the Town Square - do you think they mean Jubilee Gardens next to the Co-op?

Re: Oswaltwistle's Town Square?????

It was mentioned in the Observer again this week. I think it's just been invented by Britcliffe.

Town Square. There's no historical background for naming it that, and it's not even effing square.

It would be more correct to call it the old top of Cross Street, or even the site of Old May's Bric-a-Brac shop!

That makes it all even stranger. Where are they talking about and what has the money been spent on?

Re: Oswaltwistle's Town Square?????

Gayle, may I suggest you phone one of your Ward Councillor's and ask. Brian is always very approachable but I am sure Peter could explain.
It would not surprise me if the name "Town Square" is an error by the Observer.

Of course, such a sensible suggestion Neil, why didn't I think of that?

Think of what?

Oswaldtwistle has never had a town square you numpty, and Gayle has every right to ask where it is, especially since it has had £17,000 spent on it.

Do you have any opinions of your own, or are you just here to attack people?

Well attack me. I'll eat you up for breakfast and spit the little pieces all over the town square....if only I knew where it was.

Even I couldn't swallow a Tory.

I would of course first spit into my handkerchief, and then pop it into a waste paper bin......if there is one in the mysterious town square.

I presume the town square will be in the middle of Ossy?

Where is the middle of the town?

Answer, it doesn't have one.

Rumour has it that Union Road was first marked out after following the trail of a runaway pig, from Moor End to Church.
