Perfect Plaice Chippy! Union Road Ossy
Can I recommend to everyone Perfect Plaice Chippy on Union Road in Ossy (close to Bargain Booze)
The new owners took over about a year ago, very friendly chappy, and I can say the food is delicious. Never had a less than perfect meal from there.
Also for you black pudding lovers, he does black pudding in batter (in the shape of how you would recieve a haggis in a scottish chippy) to order which I can also recommend.
And has no one ever heard of the term mini mix?
From Padiham, as a child I would order a sausage or pie mini mix which would be the sausage or the pie with chips peas and gravy! No one seems to have heard of the term over here! I have been introduced to a 'dab butt' though which I love lol!
Happy Eating!!

He is a very friendly chap. They go out of their way to be helpful.
The fish, which he'll cook lightly battered, is fried to order, and is always delicious.

We used to get "mixtures" . You took your bowls to the chip shop . They put the chips in the bowls and then covered them with peas and the juice the peas were cooked in .

You're probably right , Jaysay . I think the chips were on top .
Chans chippy ? If that was one near the Palladium we used to go there for a bag of chips after the flicks . He was Chinese but it was a traditional English chippy , if we are on the same one .

It was on the block of shops between the Prince of Wales and the Horse Shoe, next to Scholes Paper Shop, it was traditional English chippy, but you could get potions of curry sauce. Chan was married to an English woman always had a beehive hairstyle, jet black hair and used bright red lipstick

Re: Perfect Plaice Chippy! Union Road Ossy
Used to get sent for a pudding and a mixture......if Ma was flush...which wasn't often.
We took a big basin in the hope that they would put plenty of chips and peas in it.......we usually got a chip butty out of it...but only a smell of the pudding.
When I started work and had some money of my own, I would have a pudding and a mixture for my Friday tea. Lovely!

Re: Perfect Plaice Chippy! Union Road Ossy
I used to call 'peas on top' mixture an 'upside down mixture'.
Pudding/Pie/Sausage with chips and peas we used to call Pudding/Pie 'all in'.
Ah memories.

I think the chippie above the Palladium was called K_Kwan, used to go there from school sometimes.
