On Union Road it's near the old Palladium, thats were the sign was, unsure if it's still there? It probably now says 'Welcome to Oswaldtwistle Mills- incorporating Oswaldtwistle' now though!

just been reading about the pubs and the first 7 are all addresses in church.

1. the commercial hotel built 1834 =still standing
2. conservative club moved tr roughly the present site in 1896 obtained the lease on the stone building to the rear which was formerly known as Mrs jacksons school,the present building dates 1927.
3.the greyhound 45 market street church,built 1850s.
4.rose bud 53 market street =demolished end of the 1960s.
5.musicians inn 61 market street,church.original building lease 1820 shown on map of 1848 lost its license between 1906-09 demolished 1937.
6.railway hotel 63 market street,church built 1852 closed in the 1970s.
7.railway inn. 77 market street,church.building lease 1852 lost its license prior to WW 1.

THAT MEANS CHURCH IS UPTO THE PRINTERS(LAST ORDERS)ARMS,that would mean another possible 4 pubs on the church side.

No, the sign is/was in the middle of the Palladium, making The Printers/Last Orders in Ossy.

no it doesnt parky!if you look at what i said i am talking about the whole of ossy not just union road! plus half of them on the great walk are in CHURCH does it count ?

I was meaning just union road, pubs that were no longer there.Think the first question related to starting off at church, and having a drink in each pub on the main road.

i was wondering how many there was in the whole of ossy?down the side streets on the outskirts...etc ossy has a large area of land around it and it must have housed loads of pubs!

the lion house was the HORSESHOE,just higher up than the prince of wales(thwaites) think the last landlord was george oswaldeston,remember him well once chased me down union rd with a BAYNOT lol. the landlord in prince of wales was called mcnair,came down from scotland his son was in my class at the tech.
