Well, we had lovely weather today so went for a venture into town. I love walking around Moscow and just watching everything going on, I took a few photos so I'll let you all have a look...
I'll give you a bit of an explanation of what each one is...
1. Well that would be me and the daughter outside our block of flats.
2. 1 of Stalins Seven Sisters, this one being the Foreign Ministry. Stalin built these around 1950ish as a show of power to the West. 7 almost identical huge buildings that look great, you can just make out the hammer and sickle motive on the front of the building. You can usually see at least one of these from wherever you are in Moscow.
3. My local in Moscow, The Boar House. Great bar, excellent food and drink and fantastic prices.
4. Not so often you see a fantastic piece of British engineering in Moscow, the daughter thought it was mine

5. This photo kind of gives an idea of the scale that the russians build to. Everything in the centre has to be huge, the roads, the billboards! This road is the norm for the centre, 8 lanes wide but not a motorway. A great thing in Moscow is that it is illegal to cross roads unless you are on a designated crossing or go under a subway. People are taught this from birth and I think it is a great rule.
6. Nina looking at the reflection of a Casino in an 'Whats going on in Moscow' poster.
7. Another haunt of mine every now and again. This is the Country Bar, and that is what the writing on the wall says, although in Russian.
8. I took this photo because I couldn't quite believe it. It is advertising an Audi A4 for $19,500 payable over 2 years. This is a bargain price as the lowest price in England for the bottom of the range A4 is £18,905 on the road!! Yes, we really are mega ripped of in England.
9. Another of Stalin's Seven Sisters. This one has the Communist red star on the top. In the evening it glows red, personally I just think they ran out of money and couldn't take the chrimbo decorations down

10. The entrance to Krasny Vorota Metro station, nothing much to say here but it made up the ten photos for accywebs attachment limit.
Hope these may be of some interest to someone... Let me know if you want to see more...
