There's nowt wrong with accyweb being on twitter its only transfering whats freely viewable anyway and doesn't give out personal info other than what u do yourselves here, before topic gets well out of spiral

the thing i object to is that when i post here i am interacting with teh other members as part of a comunity forum and although guests can read what is put here there is still the interaction wether it be good or bad between members who are joined up where as when stuff is merely cut and pasted to a nonscence site like twitter there is no backward and forwad comunication between teh poster and the reader .For example i dont want to have to join twitter and have to monitor it to make sure i can respond to what somone may or may not like about what i put on this forum.

if i wanted to aimlessy ramble on with no interaction with others i would have my own twitter account or own webpage with my rantings.

accyweb dosnt need twitter t promote it because i assume people find accyweb on twitter using google and accyweb shows up way before twitter does on a search for accrington

Me too. I posted two tweets on it and then gave it up. If I'm supposed to be the main type of user on Twitter then they're getting it very wrong. It doesn't appeal to me at all.

This refers to email addresses and other personal information that you enter in the site upon registering which you choose to keep private. That is the information that isn't sold.

You have the option in your profile of which information you make available to the general public.

As for duplication though, technically anything 'published', which does include things like blog posts and indeed presumably forum posted text, is then technically under copyright protection... BUT, as it is afforded to your username and nobody is trying to say otherwise, you are being suitably cited for your post in some way and that would be enough for the forum to have no problems with what it is doing. Consider it a bit like an RSS news feed, only via twitter.

Nothing stops me posting stuff off accyweb into my own blog as long as I make it known where my source is and as far as I know, don't try to profit from it in bad faith.

Basically, when you post anything up on a website that isn't controlled by yourself though, you might as well accept that you are handing over some degree of rights to whatever you post and you have absolutely no chance of really enforcing any substantial rights over anything.
