I have a slight problem with the iplayer, when I use it for live streaming the radio no problem no matter what I'm doing on the P.C. but, if I use the listen again feature and play a game in accyweb arcade the iplayer goes silent, I have to click pause then play on it to get the player to give me sound again not so much a problem as a slight hiccup really nothing to worry about nor' do I intend to spend a 'couple' of minutes fixing it, (you know how it is, you start a job like this and suddenly half a day has disappeared and still no fix even though the answer turns out only to be a click away).

I just wonder what is the difference between live streaming and streaming of the listen again type files?

Thanks for that Kate, how refreshing to get advice off someone that doesn't insist I'm using the wrong O.S.


Now if you can just tell me how to do the following, perhaps I can do something about it, No cheating, or googling just a rough guide off the top of your head will do!


1. Create a file called qmail-default.txt or forward.txt or procmailrc.txt on your computer.
2. Keep one of the following lines in that file. You need to change the path to your site path. Try both and test or ask your host which one is correct.
“|/usr/local/bin/php /home/path/to/your/script.php”
“|/home/path/to/your/script.php”
3. Upload it to your root directory and change it to .qmail-default or .forward or .procmailrc.

Have you tried installing flash again? iPlayer uses flash I think and so do the games. It might be a weird flash bug when you play from online and locally at the same time.

Failing that try booting from an Ubuntu live disk and see if it works then, it might just be a typical Windoze fault

Such a simple solution, Unfortunately my second computers name is Deep Thought, and I can't afford the electricity to boot it up.

In fact the last time I did, after several generations of processing and altering it's I.P. address it stopped & displayed:-

H.H.G.T.T.U.
PROTOCOL ERROR = 42
