Cookies Legislation

Twas on the news this morning about the new European Legislation which comes into force tomorrow 26 May, with regards to cookies being installed on your computer, when you visit a web site, you'll now have to give permission for this to happen. I was wondering why I got this box appearing asking me about this when I logged onto the Lancashire Telegraph last night. Don't make much difference to me as I clean out cookies every other day, especially if I've been on Facebook, it appears that more cookies are picked up no this type of site than anything else

Re: Cookies Legislation

There was a change in the UK version of the law just before it came into effect:

Cookies law changed at 11th hour to introduce 'implied consent' | Technology | guardian.co.uk

From what I understand, if you have a privacy policy and have T&C's that people agree to on registration to your site then all should be well.

Accy Web is hosted out of EU I believe and Roy doesn't live in the UK so he's fine

Hi Neal, there was a legal eagle on Breakfast TV this morning saying this legislation comes in tomorrow, again its a European Directive, it was pointed out that even the number 10 web site was still to conform
