Re: Google street view

It's quite aggravating that you can't continue noseying in pedestrian only areas, such as Broadway, or explore up people's back passage, because they didn't take the Google van there.

Re: Google street view

Do we think it was all photographed on the same day?

Let's take guesses when we think it was.

I think it was the first Sunday in March last year, as there's frost on my new gate, even though it was beautifully sunny.

Any other guesses?

It's much earler in Ossy, certainly before noon, because of where the shadows are.

If you go to Google, and click the Maps link, then move the little man at the top of the zoom in/out thingy-mi-jig, and then click and put him on the map, it'll change, giving you the Street View.

I am so glad that you explained that - I have been using Google Earth and clicking on camera icons and getting 'crashes' after a few minutes

I wouldn't bother exploring up there, you could meet Emma Royd.

Re: Google street view

I was on Buckingham Grove, the short cut from Hyndburn road to Dill Hall and took a photo of the camera car as it passed and the date was 20th March 2009.
The photo was taken in a hurry with a phone cam so it's not too good but it does show the cars registration as being French and from the Paris area.

It doesn't seem too long ago I checked to see if they had been round here and it wasn't available then, anyway,
I must check my cars better before I buy them, I hadn't noticed I have bought a cut-n-shut (thats a front front of a car and a back of a car welded together for those not in the know)
They didn't do a good job did they

LOL - I noticed that a similar thing has happened to a house I once owned - glad I sold before the earthquake

Re: Google street view

I have just been thinking about my post above regarding the Google car being French.
maybe it's a scam to find suitable houses for all the illegal imigrants trying to get here from France.

This is the argument brought about last year & also the latest ruling (admittedly it's not just about Google but other data storeage
concerns.)

Re: Google street view

Could it be a repainted Fiat?

(Goes off to check if Street View's available in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel.)
