Re: lost a load of programmes

It could be you registry is all screwed up.

You say you have lost system restore. is that the one via Start menu, accessories, ect?

Could be worth looking for a free registry scan on net.

Re: lost a load of programmes

Bangs goes my pint of Jack Daniels !!

Can't think how you can lose a load of programmes by uninstalling Norton. Possibly like Mr D says it's the icons etc that have gone.

Try going in to C:\WINDOWS\system32\Restore and run the program rstrui.exe, this is the system restore program

Re: lost a load of programmes

you can also get system restore from start/help and support
or you can try to get it from start/run and type in C:\WINDOWS\system32\Restore\rstrui.exe
