OK. How did that happen?

Just come online and all my favourites have done a bunk! Not a sausage bookmarked anywhere! They were all there last night but the PC sort of crashed so I switched off left it and went to bed. This morning witched on, all is working OK but when I opened up Firefox I have no favourites!

Re: OK. How did that happen?

when you restarted did it do a chkdsk?

If not force it to do one, your firefox profile will be in a slightly corrupt state (lost chain), chkdsk should recover it.

You can also check in the actual profiles directory, search teh text of files for something you know would be in there (Accyweb for example)

IIRC FF uses a bookmarks.htm file to store them. You do have a backup don't you

Actually thinking about it this could also be teh cause of your graphics driver corruption!

make sure you do a PROPER check for bad sectors etc!

I've done a few things I've also been out and now I've forgotten what I have done!

I am going to redo everything I can think of doing even if it doesn't seem like there's any connection!

AVG is working but McAfee isn't.

Re: OK. How did that happen?

Well the thing is that I set it to do one with the next restarting of windows and then restarted it but it sort of shows the screen as if it's slipped off the edge so you can't actually see what it's done but I'm assuming it did. I had to go out today though so I've hardly been here to look at it.

I have now also done a partial defrag but it got bunged up on the C drive
