The ebay cheap buy trick

I have been looking for a new camera .. a canon DSLR and there currently going for between 7 and 8 hundred quid..

There are a lot of ebay sales of this camera for 20 quid... BUY NOW 20 quid. or less sometimes... One seller i clicked on his VIEW OTHER ITEMS and he was selling laptops and other things at the same stupid silly price. But he was getting away with it....

Has to be a scam yes?... Well not really.. I aint daft enough to part wiht 20 quid for a 700 quid camera.. But detrmined to get to the bottom of this I investigated and found out how its being done...

For 20 quid you get your name added to a visual list of 35 people. The person at the top of the list gets the 700 quid camera when the last person signs up to the list.. the next time someone adds there name. the top one moves up and he gets the camera...

Simple maths will say the first camera makes the required amount but then there only making 20 quid every camera...However... What you see is a list of 35 names and the page saying when your name gets to the top then you get the camera... it doesn't say how many names are on the list.. it shows 35 names but doesnt say thats a complete list.

Heres a page I found doing the same thing

http://www.stuff2buy.co.uk

I wouldn't reccomend anyone uses this site or any other like it.... this is only for anyone interested in how expensive equipment is being sold on ebay for silly low prices..

A lot of them get away with this by claiming you are actually buying something else and the camera oe whatever is a free gift.

There could do to be some sort of legislation against it.
