What is lol?
I have not lived in Accy for over 60 years and perhaps the new trends have passed me by.But what is lol? I read the chat on the site quite often but what is lol? I knew a lad called Lawrence once and his nickname was Lol.No thats not it. Its lol with no capital. Lots Of Lolly is that it? Lovely Old Lancashire? Put an old ex Grammar School Boy out of his misery and tell me WHAT IS LOL

Which would be OK if it was enforced Mick but isn't unless its a rude one.
Personally I don't see the issue, Acronyms have been part and parcel of Internet history since day one, Its like taking the ball away from a footballer.
Your happy for us to use smilies which are effectively the same thing (text characters to represent something ) and Roy even provides teh functionality in this forum that converts my text ones to pretty graphics, Bit of a mixed message there me thinks
