Re: Accrington Railway Station

We used to use Church station a lot - it was a lost and lonely place after the last train left and a longish walk up to Gobinland, although it would probably seem further now!. Going to Blackpool at Wakes week we usually went from Blackburn (Boo - Hiss !!).

Sorry - no pics.

Re: Accrington Railway Station

Does anybody have a picture which shows the old semaphore signals on the viaduct which used to control the access to the station from the Burnley direction? I need one for a talk which I'm giving in the near future? If someone can help, we can discuss how I'm to get it on this site.
Thanks! Pashley

Re: Accrington Railway Station

The L&Y Railway Society have a librarian and archivist - he may have such a pic. Likely one has been published in a book and he may point you towards it. Email [email protected] - their photos are filed so there may be one under Railway. Mark it for the attention of John Simpson
