That's a lovely piccy of the demolition of Nuttall St. In particular, take note of the workmen in their Hi-Vis jackets, hard hats and the elaborate scaffolding erected to provide full safety as they remove the slates from the roof.
What a shame we don't see 'owt like that today.

Dunno. Their depot used to be at the bottom of Hyndburn Rd, close to the junction with Dill Hall Lane; the remnants of it now lie under 30ft of landfill of the rerouted Hyndburn Rd. I've not seen their name for years. You tell me if they are still around.

I thought "Heaps Demolition" were long gone? used to pop down mid 60s to the Hyndburn Rd Depot, cos yah could be taken on n paid by the day, always a good move if ya were stuck fer beer money. Woodwards Removals did the same, was never stuck fer a pint.

Once had lunch with Mr Heap (think he was called dick, not sure, little grey sells and all that ) and Bill Bancroft, who was then President of the Rovers and he ran a Trophy business over the Lancashire FA premises in St John's Blackburn, he was trying to set up a deal to sell trophies to Lancashire County Pool affiliated Leagues.

No its not Wadey. Wrong corner! You are showing the corner higher up the street, i.e. corner of Little Blackburn Road and Bank Street.
