Doorway two

An elegant door this, one of a pair, but fallen on hard times. Where is it?

Re: Doorway two

Could be... not too sure of street name, but ....its off Blackburn Road, and coming from Accrington direction, is the street before Little Street. You pass two very "once" elegant looking Georgian style houses, think something to do with garage or something now. You pass the front of these houses, under the railway bridge and I think you are back on Ormerod Street????

Re: Doorway two

I don't remember Scaitcliffe Street being in anyway elegant? My dad and his mate, Jim Peters had a Garage on Scaitcliffe Street, Jim kept it going for year after. He always rode a motor bike. I wonder if he's still with us, somewhere. Anyone know, he'd be in his 70s now..........

Sorry, I’m off on one again..

Re: Doorway two

Yes it is on the bottom end of Scaitcliffe Street. The pair of houses are separated by a gated passage and now front what is a garage of sorts. Do they have some connection with Paxton Mill just around the corner?

Coconuts to Doug, Willow and Atarah.

Re: Doorway two

I didn't do anything here bob; I was remising a wee bit. Funny thing is thought, I stopped outside this very door briefly last week when I was trying to get my bearings.............on another visit.
