Thumbs up Re: From the Viaduct

Good photos, Thoth.

Do you have any photos looking over the other side of the viaduct, towards the town centre, when the Broadway carpark was redeveloped in the mid eighties to build the Arndale Centre?

Re: From the Viaduct

I hadn't realised how recent that petrol station was. I thought it had been there longer. Busman remarked the other day what an awkward shape it is for people to get through when it's busy as there is only the one exit and people coming in off Hyndburn Rd block people trying to get past the ends of the pumps to get round and out if they are facing towards Hyndburn Rd having come in from the back. I said it was because the petrol station was there before Hyndburn Rd became a busy thoroughfare and originally you could exit onto Hymndburn Rd as well as enter from there.

The photos of Broadway brought back memories. The days when hoards of people used to herd across that crossing and cars didn't stand a chance. Oh and look at Kenyons. My Mum used to get cakes there every Saturday. Thanks Bert.
