Hidden History

What is the fluid connection that has caused the building here to have such an odd shape?

Could that have been built alongside a riverbank?

Re: Hidden History

Ooo She's sharp is this one. Yes it is the result of a stream, which flows from the Plantation Mill area as Pleck Brook, crosses Abbey Street and joins the Hyndburn beneath the Market. Well done Willow, another coconut! What are you going to do with them all?

Re: Hidden History

Guess so. There was, if I remember, a farm or something on the site of the market which also carried the name. Atarah remembers the dip in the ground between upper Peel Street and Broadway as also carrying the name.
