John Emanuel Lightfoot 1802 to 1893
John Lightfoot was Accrington's first Mayor.
There is an excellent obituary from the Observer at www.genealogy.bathgatehall.co.uk/JEL.pdf. It contains a very good account of life in 19th century Accrington. JEL's descendants were later involved with Wardleworths Bookshop in Little Blackburn Road. |
