Re: Pals win an award.

About 1980 a researcher from the Royal Shakespeare Co came to see me. She recorded the conversation because she wanted a genuine (cultured) Accrington accent. I later got two free tickets to the production in Covent Garden. My name was in the programme for a thank-you. Silly sod me didn't keep the programme.

Are you sure she was from the BBC? Perhaps you misheard?

I bet she was a Scientist and had said I need to produce a culture to prevent everyone else getting what you have!
