Dont think anybodys mentioned the one that used to be on the bus station on Peel St next to where the newsagents is today. You had to go up a flight of stairs to get to it, a very small bar in the early 90's? Cant remember its name though.

right i'm goin up union rd from church commercial, was a little thwaites pub ferget the name, then church con, then rosebud, station, royal, prince of wales,horseshoe, missed printers cos its still there, then i was well blathered,but have managed the rest to the black dog. twas one hell of a crawl. think the first after commercial was Greyhound?

yep next to the bridge inn used to do disco yon in early 80s. its now an italian.

That was a trick question Cashy....A distant relative of mine through marriage was the landlord......Alan Dewhurst.......He left there to take over the Boot at Burnley and then to the Hare and Hounds at Clayton where he spent many years and finally retired from there......If your still out there Alan.....make yourself known.
We both went to his brother Jacks wedding in Hoddlesden to my cousin...now sadly no longer with us....me at fourteen...Alan at sixteen really got to know the strength of real ale....we were both legless.

Can somebody do a count of pubs,( past & present ) in Clayton, from the Grayhound to the forts Arms Counting the Hyndburn. I just want to see if I was right. Beechy seems to know.
