Puzzle 12
Deliciously creamy sandstone. You can win...
1000 Ackers
for the location.
1000 Ackers
if you can tell me what the building was originally constructed as
2000 Ackers
if you can tell me the date of construction.

Re: Puzzle 12
Unless it's the Manchester & Liverpool Bank in Eagle St, now some kind of pensioner's club but I have no idea when that was built

Re: Puzzle 12
Are all the buildings there made of the same materials, because that looks just like the building in Puzzle 10?

Re: Puzzle 12
entwisi wins the location prize.
Willow wins the original use prize.
It is the former Manchester and Liverpool Bank building at the corner of Eagle Street and Cannon Street.
Any one care to try for the date?

Re: Puzzle 12
I'll try 1885 - I have a feeling there's a date on the building but I did say I wasn't going out tomorrow.............

Re: Puzzle 12
1878 or 1891 if we are guessing, Willow will get there before me so lets have another guess 1880 before I go.

Re: Puzzle 12
Tried having a quick look this morning(at 6AM) whilst on my way to work. Couldn't see a date stone at first look. There are some stones on the cannon street facade with letters in them( Can't remember what they were now I'm at my desk). Anyone care to exapnd what they are?

He must be really busy working on a Christmas quiz with maybe a massive 50000 ackers as the prize.
