They have no records actually .. probably because the deeds are now in the hands of the new Landlord (or mortgage provider) They sent me a lovely reply, but think I deleted their first answer thinking it was spam (just to put right the above remark).
Humph .. how many of his bacardi/cokes will I have to buy at the Railway to persuade the landlord to look these up for me...
This question is now over 3 threads .. no wonder Bagpuss is confused.

Deeds on paper are usually held by the solicitor or the mortgage Comp.
Most transactions are now recorded at the Land Registry, very few will show the orignial name or owner, especially back in 1830/40's.
I know of several old properties in Acc that have no deeds to their property prior to 1840, land yes, but buildings no. Land was worth more then, than stones and mortar.
This question is now over 3 threads .. no wonder Bagpuss is confused.

As already said it was owned by Harry Duff.
The lads from the Accrington Pals used a sign
on one of their huts when they were stationed
at Penkridge Camp.
