Which names seven of the nine dead children.
Mary Alice Duckworth, aged six.
Elizabeth Jane Wade, aged six.
Mary Bentley, aged six.
Catherine Lantey, aged five.
Ellen Ann Varley, aged four.
Robert Loud, aged four.
Mary Ann Fish, aged four.

How terribly sad -all so very young.
Used to live in a little village on the River Po called Arena Po where a whole generation of children died in the 1950's with their teachers and the local priest at the annual picnic -they were all drowned when drawn into a whirlpool on the river...life is full of terrible incidents like this.

My grandparents always referred to part of Eagle St (from Blackburn Rd to Paradise St) as Railway Road.
