Re: ST JAMES CHURCH Accrington

The steps look good - but that big expanse of paving is very bleak. I only hope they make good use of the "entertainment area" and that the architect comes to inspect that wall and sees how awful it looks.

Re: ST JAMES CHURCH Accrington

I see there is an application to fell a couple of trees, due to basal decay and large areas of dead bark. I think that is fair enough.

Application No:11/12/0489 Registration Date:30 Nov 2012 Location:ST JAMES CHURCH CANNON STREET ACCRINGTON Development:VARIOUS WORKS (INCLUDING FELLING) TO TREES WITHIN ST JAMES CONSERVATION AREA.

Re: ST JAMES CHURCH Accrington

There was a band, the mayor and dignitaries etc (by the looks of it) for an opening ceremony.

So I think thats it, done & dusted.

How long before the alkys and crackheads discover that it is a nice quiet place to sit - at least they can sit on the walls

It was St. Christopher's High School band, they were playing inside upstairs after the official opening.

Yer behind the times mate, they moved up Church St by St James after our wonderful council removed the benches from in front of the Market Hall.

Re: ST JAMES CHURCH Accrington

Today they are going round with a big drill and making random 8" (approx) holes in the slabs in front of and alongside the church.

Perhaps for some drainage or perhaps bollards - the area will not be right until it gets some bollards
