Where was the original?
I only remember it in The Ambulance Drill Hall and then up near the cop shop.

The original Elite was opposite the Town Hall oer the top of Redmans, the entrance was a doorway just up St James St. I cannot recall it being in Drill Hall, though it may well have been, I gave up membership around 1971 ish.

Cashy, You are on the right track but I believe "The Little Crown" was just around the corner of Church/Cannon St facing the Bridge.
From memory, and i stand to be corrected it was very close to the entrance to the Ritz roller skating rink later to become the Ritz Ballroom and Bulloughs club

Re: The Pubs of Accrington
Was the Shoulder of Mutton in Accrington, Oswaldtwistle or should I label it as Green Haworth?
Doubting my own sanity now - was the Stop and Rest next to Rhyddings Park and if so is it still open?

Re: The Pubs of Accrington
Imperial Accy is Closed has been a fair while now. Near sure Pioneer WMC is closed? and Black Dog Ossy still open? someone on here should know fer sure. Also on the list Spread Eagle and Last Orders should Not be in same place? Last orders is on opposite side of road bottom of Scaitcliffe St.
