Best yet Margaret.
Its actually a cylinder lock from a Remington .44 calibre muzzle loading pistol, from the American Civil War period.
I used to have one at one time, once clover leafed 5 shots at twenty yards with it, didn't half make a roar when it went off.
When we had to hand in our pistols, I chopped it up in bits wth an angle grinder before handing it over, thats all thats left.
