Accy Tip
Every Sunday I go up to Whinney Hill tip with the usual items for recycling.
I have never agreed with leaving bags ,boxes etc outside my house because
it tends to cause more litter.
Today the cars arriving and queing out on the road were a joke!
Great Harwood tip was closed last week-for good,
Not everyboby is going to queue so what are the consequences?

Re: Accy Tip
Accrington is a tip. When we leave our boxes and bags outside for collection, and there's a strong wind, rubbish gets blown all over the place, maybe the council should be fined, because they caused the mess.
One last thing, we leave our box in the garden, why oh why can't they put it back in the garden where they took it from, rather than leave it on the pavement?
Make's you want to just put everything in the bin !!!!

Re: Accy Tip
Just dump your rubbish on Peel St, most people do. If you time it right it will stay there 24 hours

Re: Accy Tip
I left my bin 30 inches ( I measured it and took a photo) from the top of my drive and they refused to empty it . They left a note on saying it has to be at the top of the drive. When I complained to the council some snotty woman said and I quote "If everyone left it so far from the top of their drive the collectors would not get round in time".........Bury me deep.....

Just think, when they eventually get around to chipping your bins, boxes & sacks sat nav will be able to prove you are being lazy, not the bin man.

When Binmen were Binmen, the used to come along the back, open the door with a T key, oik the bin onto their shoulder, and lug it to the wagon tip it in, if they spilt any they picked it up, and brought your bin back AND closed the door.
This lot aren't Binmen, there just trolley pushers & lever operators, with too many supervisors.

Re: Accy Tip
Dozens of people were turned away from the Valley's only remaining tip after the controversial closure of the Bacup centre. Residents who made the 14-mile round trip were turned away from the Haslingden tip on Sunday as the site was full by midday. Council chiefs said Sunday's good weather was the main reason the Haslingden tip was busy. Vicky Swift first drove to the Bacup centre on Rakehead Lane as she had forgotten the centre had shut. When she arrived at the Duckworth Clough centre on Clough End Road at dinner time she was informed the tip was at capacity and told to come back later in the day.

Could the collectors not leave it 30 inches nearer to their dumper truck to compensate for where you left it, thereby saving 30inches of time???
