Margaret's one woman fight

Don't really wish to start another discussion on dog pooh in our borough or pooh in general, but you must have noticed our Margaret Rothwell's one-woman fight against this in last week's Observer... sorry, doesn't appear to be a link available.

She overlooks Heys Playing Fields and spends time putting up 'Keep Britain Tidy' posters there, (obtained from a website of the same title), again and again, because they either get ripped down or not particularly outdoor strong posters. She also has the courage to approach dog owners who are 'shirking their responsiblilty'

Well done, Margaret, at least you are 'a doer', not just a talker.

Re: Margaret's one woman fight

i read that in last weeks observer too, good on ya Margaret, there's an older man who lives on the next street to me and everytime he walks his dog he lets it do its business in the middle of the road, ive asked him on numerous occasions if he wouldnt mind cleaning it up for the sake of the kids who live round here and he just walks off ignoring it, i hope he gets fined one day soon

Re: Margaret's one woman fight

Well done Margaret R a brave thing to do but it is an issue that is very annoying & nasty being at the butt of irresponsible owners, we have one or 2 particular dog owners oblivious to the mess their dog makes on our grass verges that isn't in front of their houses tho one day will get their co-uppance!!

Respect Margaret R

Good for you Margaret. I wouldn't have the nerve to tackle people face to face.
