Kate, Please can you tell me what/where is Castle House? How many Police Stations does Accrington need and where are they getting the money from when everyone is supposed to be cutting expenditure?

Castle House was the Income Tax office. Not big enough for full services of a Police Station, guess sort of operations and offices and near town centre. Makes sense to me. It's a lovely building and pleased may be 'open for business' again... LOL.
No surprise with the garage though on Hyndburn Road ..more room for vehicles, etc.
Will be LCC I presume, (although does just say Lancashire Constabulary) and plans have been going on for some time ... so possibly already accounted for financially.
It is one of our emergency services, and think better facilities are needed.

'Course I am only speculating, Park .. really need to see the plans on this one (hurry up HBC and get them up as promised).
Don't suppose would be one or t'other do you ? Nah, guess that would be too expensive to submit plans for an alternative ?

Why do they need 2 sites in Accrington, thought they were on a "big cut" in staff to make the savings that we keep hearing about.

Dunno. Will have to wait until more information is revealed. Sure the press will be onto it soon.
In the meantime, they are losing their canteen:
Lancashire Police canteens to close in cuts (From Lancashire Telegraph)
