This is a very strange one. No-one can believe how anyone in their right mind would want to build properties in this area of town, BUT, its supposed to be part of the Town Conservation Area, so how can this be? At the moment, the only access would be up the back alley by what used to be THE LUCKY SHOE SHOP. The people in the vacinity want help by members of the public to STOP this and are asking folk to go up to the Planning Office and make an objection, or at least ask to see the plans!

The plans can be seen from the link Katex posted

Why do you object to development of a brownfield site?
Whatever is built there wont be visible from Bank St.

Re: Planning Applications
But this is a "re submission" - they were NOT given planning permission before, now new plans mentioning 3 storey buildings have materialised. This has been a quiet "back water" for goodness knows how many years. How would you like that facing your windows? Am only trying to get support for a friend of mine.

Re: Planning Applications
I agree that three storeys may well be inappropriate.
I agree that the photo of dereliction you posted is not a good view either.

Show your friend the design statement, Atarah ... only 2-story buildings.
Shows old documents too which is really interesting.

Re: Planning Applications
Hi Katex, the old documents on this particular plan are more than interesting, they are FASCINATING. I really need to be able to look at plan 11/11/0428 in connection with this property. Would you be able to help me find that one please?

Re: Planning Applications
The one I have put up is application no. 11/11/0428. Just hit the wording 'Case File' ... it is all there. Here it is again anyway.
Case File
Go into the ones headed CAD drawing .. shows the plans of the proposed development.

They are making Nos 29 and 31 Bank street into 1 and making the back ally wider.
