re: Planning Applications
That residential gypsy site is near the Grane Rd and Belthorn - remember reading that site work had started without permission and local residents were not pleased.

They should never get planning permission for a Church there. Just think of the traffic and parking problems. I suspect it will be used more than just Sunday and the odd evening as well.

Read about that Margaret, wonder if they will just get to carry on regardless. After all plenty of people have been made to undo work that has been done before planning consent was given.

re: Planning Applications
Those Christian Institute chaps used to call on that young man with 'learning difficulties' who lives next door to me. They once tried to convert me when they found me outside sunning myself in a lounge chair. I didn't like their approach at all - reminded me of those fanatics who are on GOD TV. (wouldn't buy a second hand car from them - you know what I mean)

re: Planning Applications
See the gypsy camp site has been turned down, according to the Observer, due to the Green Belt factor and the view some people will get, although the decision notice has not yet been posted on the Hyndburn website as yet.
The caravans are now being requested to move.

re: Planning Applications
What about the new Business/Industrial park that HBC propose, located behind the Redcap pub and down towards Knuzden brook which is the HBC boundary and back towards the motorway. The area is identified on the HBC "master map" but as far as I am aware it has always been farm land. There is not any planning applications lodged yet but I think work has started judging by the JCB's and other items of equipment. The site is on the opposite side to Winsor Ave, and just a little further down if you are travelling down towards Intack traffic lights (Blackburn road). If HBC follow the plan detail, the Business/Industrial park will extend right up the the rear of the Redcap pub. Plan was adopted in November 1996.

re: Planning Applications
Is the presence of lots of industrial machinery in that area due to the Whitebirk roundabout works at the moment rather than anything else ?

No I'dont think so, they have laid an access road in to the field, plus it's to far away from the roundabout. The area is adjacent to Blackburn road between wynser's shoe shop and windsor Ave, but on the opposite side.

It is a very strange one, there is no reference to any project in the planning applications, mind knowing HBC, the planning committee will grant planning permission after the event. That way there will not be any agro from the residents living adjacent to the work.

I think on this issue and on issues in the future we should remember the strong words of our leader PB as quoted in the citizen on monday 19th november
Council Threatens Action Over Green Belt Caravan Site (from Blackburn Citizen)

No, the residents of Winsor Avenue have already handed a petition over to Councillor Heys regarding the new Business/Industrial park in the same area. There was a large pic in the Observer

A petition won't stop the work and besides that it is a fair way up from any residential area.
