Re: TESCO - new site in Accrington.

Again, thanks to Less for making us aware of the legal document :
http://www.hyndburnbc.gov.uk/downloa...L_DOCUMENT.pdf
Scroll down to page 41 point 7.24 for details of the area size of the new Tesco's, it will cover 8599 sq metres, with car parking and landscaping, but .....underneath is a super duper sketch of how the Tesco store will look.
Quite amazing!

TESCO - new site in Accrington.

Few photos from this morning. We can now easily see The Globe in the background.(wonder who years ago had the sense to retain one of the original walls of Howard and Bulloughs?) What a clever person! The whole site of this proposed Tesco's is huge!

Tesco say Accrington will be a `medium` sized store. and in comparison Haslingdon is classed as a `medium` sized store.

It seems this isn't as cut and dried as we thought it was. Tesco's are to be offered space on the new extension to the Arndale

Plans unveiled for £32m Accrington shopping centre expansion (From Lancashire Telegraph)

Seems odd.

I thought demolition/building was well under way, and the new Tesco was due to open in June of this year.
