I hope the roundabout works ok. At least you wont get stopped all the time when Tesco is quiet. Then again a lot of people have no idea what to do when they get to a roundabout

Re: TESCO - new site in Accrington.
I went past the new store yesterday (Sunday) and the roundabout was operational. It was a bit confusing at first because there were lines and cones every where. Coming back I was ready for it but was very wary of a taxi coming from my left and I could see he wasn't going to stop. It will be OK when it is finished.

Re: TESCO - new site in Accrington.
So who sold their soul & for what ? If 450 jobs were supposedly available it's to do with the size of the outlet, the size hasn't changed but the amount of positions have ? How does that work ?
Cynical I know but perhaps it was just mutterings & words to ease the way & there was no real intention for 450 places from the off ? Just my take on it.

Re: TESCO - new site in Accrington.
I know that several councilors who post on here have raved about how good the legal team on HBC are; I would assume therefore, that in the process of granting planning permission for Tesco, caveats would have been made pertaining to local job creation on the retail site. If those caveats were not made - given the position regarding the market - then the legal team now needs sacking; if they were made, then Tesco should not now be allowed to open.

Re: TESCO - new site in Accrington.
One would have hoped there was some legally binding agreement, if the number of jobs created. was part of the planning application.

Sorry, posted before I read your own thoughts, and I quite agree with you (for once).
