Thumbs up Accy move ever closer...

Let's forget about Accy CC for a moment...

Church & Ossy. Church & Ossy, La,La La.La La, La!

...Now that's a chant I've not heard since the days of Johnnie Walker & Roy Evans.

What a big favour Church & Ossy CC did today to help keep the Lancashire League Trophy in Hyndburn. Our match at Haslingden was ruined by the weather, so I hot-footed it to Blackburn Road, to watch the conclusion of the game against Rawtenstall.

With five overs to go, Church were losing wickets hand over fist, although the locals felt that Andy Payne should have given half of his collection for his five wicket haul to the umpire, for some generous decisions. The ask was rising, and going into the last over, Church needed eleven runs. Enter the Church captain, Phillip Gilrane. Rawtenstall stalwart, Keith Roscoe, was slogged over cow-shot corner, for six. The next delivery received the same treatment and the match was won. The atmosphere amongst the Rawtenstall fans went down faster than a knackered lift, but not in the Church dressing room. Respect, to the Church captain & team for battling out for a win, even though there was nothing to play for. Your boys did us a big favour today!
