That woman commentator on Match of the Day
Has anyone else heard her? It's just not right and it's certainly not clever. She's a sacrifice on the BBC's alter of political correctness.
She sounds like a prepubescent boy auditioning for Newsround.

I switched the sound off when she came on. As somebody said on another board, like listeneing to a rat being flushed down the bog

Re: That woman commentator on Match of the Day
I heard her, and thought it strange, but you would get used to it, look at the girl on sky (chamberlain), can't remember her name, but once we got used to her, she is quite enjoyable, never know, she may talk more sense than some of the male pundits!

Re: That woman commentator on Match of the Day
I don't have a problem with her sex/gender, it's just that she's no good. She states the obvious most of the time and seems to be going through the motions of excitement, rather than 'living' the game.
Would she have been given the job if she'd have been male? Of course she wouldn't. She simply isn't good enough.

Re: That woman commentator on Match of the Day
I think she should be given time to adapt before she is condemned.

She's had the best part of a year. How long does it take?

Re: That woman commentator on Match of the Day
Point taken, didn't know she had been doing the job so long, your initial question just seemed sexist, and I am a firm beleiver that women should be given a chance in a man's world. ie football commentary.

Re: That woman commentator on Match of the Day
I haven't heard the woman you are on about, but know what you are getting at. I find the majority of women TV broadcasters have irritating voices.
The deeper tones of a male voice are far easier on the ear.
I find that women on radio are better than those on TV - probably because they are chosen for how they sound, and not for how they look.

That's the problem, isn't it? Any criticism is instantly taken as some some of 'ism' in this increasingly PC obsessed world.
I would never profess to be sexist, even if the daft bint would be better employed in the kitchen.
