What no Golf?
I was waiting to see if anyone would start a thread about the Ryder cup this weekend - and no one did! I think theyve done really well - the americans were just up against a european team that was in form and flying. They had no chance!

Re: What no Golf?
Sorry I don't like golf. I think it is a strange idea having a handicap. It allows bad players play against good players, they can even beat someone much better than them. Its a silly idea. It would be like Stanley playing in a cup game against Manchester United and Stanley starting with 2 goals as a handicap.

Golf isn't a team sport. It's individuals against the elements.

Re: What no Golf?
I only like watching the ryder cup - because its a team game then. Otherwise i think its a waste of space. The only good thing about a game of golf is the 19th hole! My bro in law says its the 2nd best game after cricket. Some of my friends have said theyd take me for a game of golf to try and get me to like the game i said i'd meet you at the 19th hole. All it is hitting a little white ball round a course and try to put it in a hole.

Re: What no Golf?
Sorry folks but golf is a great game, a good way to excersize, a good way to challenge your ability, some great company and of course the 19th hole. I play about 3 times a week.

Re: What no Golf?
Golf handicaping system is the fairest of them all, concistency at golf is very hard to attain what is portrayed on the media, bears no comparison with ones own ability, thank's Sky for hijacking it, some of us can't afford you.

Its the whole idea of handicapping that is daft. It allows rubbish players compete against good players. If I was a good player it would annoy me to be beaten by someone who had really lost

Re: What no Golf?
As for the Ryder Cup. Well done Europe! Kinda hate to say it but I enjoy seeing the Americans get beat in golf.
As for the game I play it few times a year with friends. It can be SOOO frustrating. However, those times that you make a really nice shot is such a glorious feeling. It make for a nice social time with my friends!
