The Godfather I, II, and III
The only films I have watched more than once, and notice something new at every watching.

Totally agree with you , however i dont cry.
The three things i cant stand to watch in that film are:

When there on omaha beach at the start and the soldiers have got blown up and it shows their guts etc

When towards the end when you know the german man is going to be snipered and it shows the bullet go in his head.

And last of all when the american solider and the german soldier have no ammo for there guns left and so are fighting in a room trying to kill each other but the german soldier get the better and stabs him really slow!

However its an amazing film ive watched many times.
Also has anyone watched Island On Bird Street? I watched it the other day and think its brill.

Couldn't possibly pick just one. I'll try and limit this to under a hundredish .

Lost in Translation, Broken Flowers, Untergang Der (Downfall), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, High Noon, Toy Story, Cool Hand Luke, American Beauty, Almost Famous.

Now for the obligatories (cue the groans); Forrest Gump, Donnie Darko, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Trainspotting, Goodfellas, The Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather (i & ii).

How in Gods name can you equate Lost in Translation to Downfall , apart from one or two decent visuals Lost in Translation had nothing , one of the most over-rated pieces of tripe ever made .
Agree with your choice of Downfall , should be on everyones top ten list , no Tom Hanks or other hollywood petty boys pushing a political agenda aka Saving Private Ryan

He says (in German): ""Give up, you don't stand a chance! Let's end this here! It will be easier for you, much easier. You'll see it will be over quickly."

Some parts of the film are even more poignant if you find the translations for the foreign dialogue on imdb:
The two "Germans" who try to surrender (unsuccessfully) at the start are saying: "Please don't shoot me, I am not German, I am Czech, I didn't kill anyone, I am Czech!" - apparently Czechs were taken prisoner and forced to serve as soldiers.

Fargo - It makes me laugh and cringe at the same time. William H Macy & Steve Buscemi are just so convincing you really want things to go right for them. I told a friend to watch it and he didn’t laugh at all, he just didn’t get it.

The Shining - You need a blanket because it’s so atmospheric you start to imagine the snow drifts outside your own front door. Chilling and a bit disturbing...
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy
