I found this link, saying that allegations about Jimmy Savile were covered up by the BBC!

There were many rumours and allegations doing the rounds whilst he was alive.

I don't know the truth and it maybe better it dies with him.
I felt so uncomfortable about what had been said I couldn't bring myself to say R I P in the thread opened on his death.

When I first read this article I felt the same as you!

But on thinking about it I wonder why this man, who I can't remember any photos of him with woman that he had relationships with - always hanging round young girls and kids! Now if this was a guy who wasn't famous and lived down your street and always wanted to hang round with kids you lot would be the first to start thinking his motives were unsavoury!

But because this person is a TV personality you don't want to think anything untoward!

Jimmy Savile himself said that he didn't own a computer because he didn't want people to think he was downloading child porn!

This smacks of cashing in on someone who can't answer back.

If anybody had a complaint to make against him, they should have done it at the time, not wait until he's dead.

Well this thread started by you and added too only reiterates what I've said elsewhere. There's an old saying don't talk ill of the dead, they have no right of reply, hey but you do everything true to form
