I used to watch these with my oldest son before he started school, he's 37 this year - also Hickory House, Rainbow and others which I'm sure he'd remember but I can't remember the names of - I do remember Hartley Hare.
When I was little in the fifties it was Watch With Mother every afternoon:
Monday - Picture Book
Tuesday - Andy Pandy
Wednesday - Bill & Ben
Thursday - Rag Tag & Bobtail
Friday - The Woodentops.
I remember throwing a strop because sometimes they'd take The Woodentops off and replace it with horse racing.
And after Watch With Mother there sometimes used to be a keep fit programme on for the mums!
The Magic Roundabout - my dad is a "Brian" the Snail.
Anyone remember The Herbs -Parsley the Lion, Dill the dog...?
Was a mega-fan Of Roobarb and Custard - truly zany! Love the way it's all shakey!

Could never get my head round the fact that Roobarb was yellow and Custard was pink.
Inverse logic, Sue.
Or else Custard was really Blancmange!!

I watched these programmes too, as well as Tales Of The Riverbank featuring Hammy The Hamster. Incidentally, I used to think Andy Pandy was a girl.

OMG! Had completely forgotten about Hammy the hamster....
Andy Pandy was a bit ambiguous, must admit, very sweet looking. Doesn't really matter that much when you're a toddler though...

The lady who made Andy Pandy used her son as a model. He was a toddler at the time and is now an expert on the Antiques Roadshow called Paul Atterbury.

So Andy Pandy is really Paul Atterbury?
Still wearing stripes then...hasn't changed much
