I don't think they care. In the time they have it's easier and more effective to ignore reality to keep the story flowing.

Re: Coronation Street is Rubbish!?
Are prison visiting times not more relaxed, when someone's only held on remand?
As Fiz was recently?
Although you're imprison, you haven't been found guilty of any crime.

It's the same. Because if they remand someone it's usually coz they are afraid they may repeat the offence or are probably guilty.

Re: Coronation Street is Rubbish!?
How often you can visit someone in prison
'A convicted prisoner is allowed at least two 60-minute visits every four weeks
A prisoner on remand (waiting for their trial) is allowed three 60-minute visits a week.'
Visiting someone in prison : Directgov - Crime and justice
According to this a prisoner on remand can have three hours of visits per week.
As opposed to to two hours per month/4 weeks.

Not the case, Bail is normally refused cos of nature of offence/ Police object/ No fixed Address,/Fear of repeat, is only 1 possibility./ Likely to be guilty don't come into it.

Not necessarily, what he and I said about visiting convicted prisoners is correct, but it does seem that the regime is more relaxed for those on remand. Still don't think you could just turn up at the prison unannounced.

Here you go: Barry Stanton (born ? ?, 1940) played Albert Cook on Coronation Street in 1967 and Tony Ditchburn in 1981. His other credits include The Sweeney, Upstairs, Downstairs, Minder, Yes, Prime Minister and the 1994 film The Madness of King George.
From Barry Stanton - Corriepedia - Coronation Street, UK soap opera
His parents had an icecream shop/cafe on Whalley Road just below the railway bridge, on the same side of the road as the Clock Garage. We used to hang out there on Sunday afternoons in the early 60s. I can still taste their Vimto ice lollies!
Do you mind me asking why you want to know?

Well thanks for clearing it all up I wasn't 100% sure! However the issue I was pointing out was that an individual family or otherwise except legal representation - can't just turn up at a prison and demand to see a prisoner! They have to go through the process of getting a Visitors form sent to them by the prisoner. The rest if it is splitting hairs!
Also has any Corrie actor got a part in Eastenders?
