Re: Eastenders

Didnt see the Mike Reid programme Gynn but can imagine that it would get actors down when they have had to film upsetting scenes all day.
Agree with the doc on Sky though, totally unbelievable that you would go and nick some-one else's baby.

Re: Eastenders

i think it is a bit risky too.

a bit close to peoples hearts but i suppose it is only the same for when they film a story line for being rapied or abused or a cancer story etc.

I should have a step brother my age but he died of cot death at 6 months old, im glad my stepdad doesnt have the time to watch the soaps! xxx

This is a very good point. I have found other storylines more upsetting than this one for the simple reason that i have had experienced them in real life, this is a soap opera and storylines for soaps are taken from real events and news stories.(although the baby swap could be pure fiction). People are`nt being forced to watch

Like you say every soap has to do these storyline's that you mentioned above to make the programme realistic, but this particular one is so un-realistic its untrue!

They might not have had people complaining as much if they had just left it to the cot death, not then for Ronnie to go and swap her dead child with Kats alive baby.

Aye thats what it is, and that they have put this dreadful storyline on around the Christmas/New Year period. Not really a good idea.

Like I said before if they had left the baby swap out I think that they would not have any complaints.

Re: Eastenders

I've havn't seen the last couple of episodes, in fact i only watch the soaps when my lads stayin with me, but how is it that they havn't found out its not their baby, surely when there's a cot death wouldn't there be a series of tests performed on the baby, & during these it would come to light that it aint the right child?

Best Regards - Taggy

Re: Eastenders

Nobody in their "right" mind would swap a deceased baby for someone else's living baby.
Personally I think they are trying to get across to viewers how not of her right mind she actually is. She has had quite a bit of trauma just recently and just 1 of these events could be enough to tip someone over the edge, let alone the 3 or more events that she has been through.
It is going to show that some people can't handle everything that life throws at them.

Re: Eastenders

What pleasure do soap fans get from watching these story lines depicting misery?

Does it make you comfortable thinking that some people are having a harder time than you?

A FANI'd sooner poke my eye out with a red hot poker, it would be less painful
