Mildred Pierce

This mini-series is being shown on SKY in Italy from this Friday evening. I have seen the trailer for it and it looks like a really lavish production - along the lines of Boardwalk Empire as it's set in the Great Depression in America.

Kate Winslet is the leading actress so it should be a treat, she has won an Emmy for her performance - i think it has won about 5 Emmy's altogether. The male lead is Guy Pearce.

Can't wait to watch it -is it being shown in the UK too I wonder...

It was on a month or two ago, Mrs BG loved it, I found it okay as well.
It is well made.
Enjoy

Re: Mildred Pierce

Found it OK but not quite as good as the Hype it got - better in original language than dubbed into Italian -husband thought it was rubbish, switched over and had to re-watch it. But then he hates any costume-type drama -except Boardwalk Empire -probably cos there was more action!

Haven't seen it.

Love the original, with Joan Crawford.
