Two Up/Two Down were robbed.

The minute detail, as in Phoenix Nights, was spot on. Some of the signs in the audience had me choking, as did Pete Waterman's comment about Geraldine blowing his whistle.
A couple of biffs who I work with thought it was for real and said aaahhh when that lad was told no and then yes later when his grandma died.

Two up two down were funny. My favourite bits were the old biddies singing 'Push the Button' and the bit at the end where Geraldine choked on one of the silver bits released from the ceiling.

As you say, it was very well researched.

Re: More 4

It was brilliant. Loved the cameo apperances from:

The Cheeky Girls, Rick Astley, Lionel Blair, Rustie Lee, Andi Peters (in the "top secret" CD pressing plant in Blackburn) Ricky Wilson from Kaiser Chiefs and best of all Sir Paul McCartney(!)

Re: More 4

Just heard the song 'A Winner's Song' by Peter Kay (as Geraldine) played on Radio 2 .. LOL. although not exactly the best of notes strung together, think will certainly attract a certain amount of success.

Is it being released as a single?

I would have thought so.....it's not like Peter Kay to miss the chance to make a few bob.

I got the impression it might be Lilly, not positive though .. they were just praising the show and sorta' said "And here's the song blah, blah".

Found this, but is it a spoof ? ...

Popjustice - Geraldine McQueen - 'The Winners Song'

No its not a spoof, it is being released as a single. It was co-written by Gary Barlow.

Re: More 4

I bet this time next year poor Geraldine's back on the school dinners, serving up chips, rather than hits.

She could always team up with Michelle 'Mick' McManus, as heavy weight challengers to the Cheeky Asylum Seekers.

I think Foxy and Waterman wanted to give her one.

The Heimlich Maneuver, that is.

Re: More 4

The only fault I could find with the programme was the timing.

They should have shown it the weekend of the X-Factor final, and then Geraldine could have stopped the X winner reaching number one.

How funny that would have been.

I thought it was hilarious, and a certain member of my staff was convinced it was for real, when we asked if she had watched it the reply was...." started watching but it was too much like X-Factor" Priceless.
